Happy Homemaker Monday - 08/27/2018

Good morning everyone, and a very Happy Monday :)

I am super tired today, had a very busy but fun weekend, and just not enough sleep at all.

Saturday morning I was up at 4am.  My husband, myself and my stepmom headed off to volunteer at his work, for the Hotter N Hell 100, which is one of the oldest and largest cycling races in the nation.  It was a lot of fun and we were there from 5am until 11am, in the sun, helping as the cyclists came by.  I ended up being the designated photo taker, standing in front of the backdrop and being handed hundreds of cellphones to take pics for the cyclists.  It was a lot of fun :)

Yesterday, my husband, myself and my stepmom headed to Fort Worth to the Stockyards.  The kids being the usual teenagers that they are, didn't want to go and preferred to stay home sleeping.  Oh well!!!

We had a great time as well and we plan on returning another time with the kids.

So, a fun packed weekend, but I am moving extra slow this morning LOL

Right let's get on with our Happy Homemaker Monday.....oh and I have a ton of photos to edit from the Stockyards, and will share them in a separate post later today.

The weather in my neck of the woods:
It's been quite hot, and I must say that I'm ready for Fall to arrive.   The rest of the week is looking like this:

Monday - High of 101
Tuesday - High of 101
Wednesday - High of 98 and cloudy
Thursday - High of 99
Friday - High of 101
Saturday - High of 100
Sunday - High of 97

Things that make me happy:
Having a fun day out with family.  Curt and I were saying yesterday that we used to do stuff like this back in Arizona, but since retiring we haven't really done much.  We need to change that and go back to having fun with the kids and exploring etc.

Book I'm reading:
When the Lights go out by Mary Kubica

What's on my TV today:
Haven't watched much TV the past two weeks since my stepmom has been visiting, but might try a movie this afternoon.

For dinner tonight:
Better than Olive Garden Fettucine Alfredo, Olive Garden's Bread sticks

On my To Do List:
Laundry - Kids did all their laundry yesterday.  I have two loads to wash today, iron, fold and put away.

Homeschooling

In the craft basket:
The Cosmic CAL, still sitting there.  I just haven't had the time to crochet at all with my stepmom visiting, but I'll catch up once she leaves on Saturday.

Looking forward to this week:
Spending the last week with my stepmom before she returns to South Africa.

No words needed (favorite photo or picture, yours or others you want to share):
Hubby and I at the Forth Worth Stockyards :)

Lesson learned the past few days:
I need to tame my tongue.  I've been very quick to react and talk in certain situations, where I should rather not say anything.  I am struggling in this area and I don't know if it's my hormones or my anxiety or what is going on, but I am finding myself very emotional, overwhelmed and quick to judge.  It's not who I am at all, and so I'm turning to prayer and the Lord in help getting through this phase.

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction” (Proverbs 13:3).
